A Ruston man who attempted to walk away from a traffic stop was arrested Tuesday by the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s deputy.
Cody R. Allen, 30, was stopped on Beacon Light Road about 9:00 a.m. Tuesday morning when a deputy stopped him for driving on the wrong side of the road. According to reports, Allen exited his vehicle and began walking away. He would not comply with numerous commands to stop.
When the deputy caught up to Allen, he saw a clear plastic bag of suspected marijuana in the man’s coat pocket. Allen was detained and arrested.
A search of the vehicle yielded multiple marijuana packets and a handgun. The vehicle’s inspection sticker was expired.
Allen was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for resisting an officer, obstructing a public passage, possession of marijuana, expired inspection sticker, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
