Man charged with threatening officer

Grambling State University Police arrested a man last Wednesday after an investigation into threats against a police officer.

Tyler D. Caldwell, 22, of Arlington, Texas, was taken into custody after it was found he allegedly made threats to do physical harm to a GSU police officer.

GSU investigators found the threats were made on the social media app “FIZZ.” The site is only available to college students who can only access it for their own school. The discussion thread including the threat circulated throughout the Grambling campus and was brought to the attention of GSU police.

When questioned, Caldwell reportedly admitted to making threats to do physical harm to the officer because of past interactions between the two. Caldwell wrote that the officer should count his days and he would confront the officer when he was not in uniform.

Caldwell was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for threatening a public official or law enforcement officer.

Bail was set at $10,000.
