Grambling Police arrested a Ruston man last week after he allegedly fled officers attempting to stop him for speeding.
Just after midnight Wednesday morning, a Grambling police officer clocked a car on RWE Jones Drive on radar at 98 miles per hour in a 35 mph zone. The vehicle was pursued onto Interstate 20 at a high rate of speed, passing cars on the shoulder and nearly causing several accidents.
The vehicle exited the I-20 at the Louisiana Tech exit and came to a stop. Tylor Allen Morgan, 22, told officers he had just received some disturbing news and was attempting to blow off some steam. He allegedly said he had been drinking and was sorry for driving so fast.
Morgan was administered a breath test at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center. The breath sample registered a blood alcohol content of 0.132g%. Morgan was booked for DWI and aggravated a flight from an officer.
Bail was set at $38,000.
