Gun thefts resolved quickly

The Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a man Saturday afternoon after he allegedly stole firearms from two trucks earlier in the day.

A deputy responded to a Whitehead Road residence Saturday to investigate a reported burglary. The victim reported two trucks had been burglarized with a .38 Special revolver taken from one and a 9mm pistol from the other.

The victim provided video showing the suspect on his property just after midnight and identified him as Cameron Talley. The deputy also recognized the suspect as Tally from previous interactions.

Talley was located at his residence and questioned about his whereabouts at the time of the burglaries. Talley first denied leaving his residence but after being confronted with the video, eventually admitted to walking to the victim’s residence on Whitehead Road and stealing the guns.

Talley told the deputy he still had the .38 Special revolver but had sold the pistol for $100.

Talley was taken to the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office for further questioning and then was booked that’s all Lincoln Parish Detention Center on two counts of theft of a firearm.

Bail was set at $50,000.
