A Benton man was arrested Friday for DWI after a Louisiana state trooper saw a pickup truck pulling a trailer occupied by several men.
At about 11:30 p.m. Friday, the trooper saw the pickup traveling south on Tech Drive pulling a utility trailer. The trailer contained two or three young men lying on top of a mattress. The truck was stopped, and the driver identified as Brayden W. Bell, 20. The trooper’s affidavit noted Bell exhibited signs of intoxication and that he performed poorly on field sobriety tests.
Bell was arrested and taken to the Lincoln Parish Detention Center where he was administered a breath test. The breath sample showed Bell’s blood alcohol concentration to be .172g%, over eight times the legal limit for drivers under 21.
Bell was booked for first offense DWI and riding in an open trailer. Bail was set at $1,500.
