Coming off a midweek match sweep on the road at El Dorado High School in Arkansas, Ruston High Volleyball now turns its attention to what may be a very exciting weekend of stout competition: hosting the ninth annual Bearcat Brawl for two days at the Ruston Sports Complex.
“It was a good match to work on us as a whole,” Ruston head coach Mandy Cauley said about the El Dorado sweep. “We were able to try some different options and look at executing our offense. Overall, the goal is to always have a smooth clean match and we tried to do just that. Communication and reading the ball is getting better, and we are looking forward to a great weekend of competitive volleyball.”
All four courts will be going starting at 4 p.m. today, and then beginning at 8:30 a.m. Saturday morning. Ruston is schedule to play in five matches; all on Court 1.
“The tournament has grown from being a local tournament with one team from outside our region into a tournament that has teams from all across the state,” Cauley said. “It’s known as a competitive tournament with a good mix of competition levels.”
