With impending rain in the forecast, Ruston High School’s 2023 homecoming assembly today will now be moved to the auditorium on campus.
“We really wanted to have it at the stadium since we can’t get in the gym,” Ruston High principal Dan Gressett said. “However, we can’t control the weather and there’s way too much planning that’s involved to take a chance. You’re talking about setting everything up, having the court all dressed up, and moving 1300 people across the street.
“We felt like our best option was to go ahead and make a decision. It will still be a very special occasion for our court, their families, guests, and our students. We will make sure of that.”
The assembly will begin in the auditorium at 10:00 a.m. today.
Alumni, guests, and family and friends of the court and assembly participants are still invited to come in-person.
The assembly will also be live-streamed and can be watched on BearcatNationNetwork.com.
