Two arrests following Ruston hit and run

A driver involved in a hit and run accident last Monday and the owner of the car he was driving were both arrested after they went to police about the crash.

Brandon S. Carter accompanied Kja C. Wright, both 21, to the Ruston Police Department Monday afternoon to talk about a hit and run crash that occurred at U.S. 167 South at Tennessee Avenue around midnight. Carter told officers he fled the scene because he was scared. Wright, the vehicle owner, said she was not in the vehicle, which is uninsured.

Carter was issued citations for driving under suspension, careless operation of a vehicle, and no insurance. He was then booked at the detention center for hit and run driving.

Wright was found to be wanted for failure to appear in Ruston City Court on a disturbing the peace charged and was also booked.

Carter’s bail was set at $1,000; Wright’s bail was fixed at $3,000.
