Former Grambling State head coach and Ruston High assistant coach Broderick Fobbs was named interim head coach at ULM Sunday after the school parted ways with Terry Bowden.
University of Louisiana-Monroe Director of Athletics John Hartwell announced yesterday through a press release that he will seek new leadership for the Warhawks’ football program.
“After a thorough review, we have decided to make a change in the leadership of ULM football,” Hartwell said. “I want to thank Coach Terry Bowden for all he has done over the last three years for our football program and our university.”
Fobbs served as the head coach for Grambling State from 2014 through 2021. During his time with the Tigers he posted a record of 54-32, including a mark of 42-17 in SWAC play. Fobbs was the running backs coach at Ruston High during the Bearcats run to the state title game in 2022 before joining Bowden’s staff this season.
Bowden was hired as the program’s 16th head coach on Dec. 23, 2020. In his three seasons as head coach the Warhawks went 4-8 twice and 2-10 in 2023. ULM went 5-19 in the Sun Belt Conference during those three seasons.
