Performance scores discussed at LPSB December meeting

By Kyle Roberts

The Lincoln Parish School Board held its December meeting Tuesday night and discussed school performance score data that was released in early November.

To open the night, Lincoln Parish formally announced that Tiffany Curry was named principal of Dubach School and will have her interim tag removed effective Jan. 1, 2024.

“We went ahead and opened that position up for full time up there as the enrollment is going up, too,” Lincoln Parish School Board superintendent Ricky Durrett said. “She continues to work  with the community and get kids there. So we’re very proud of what she’s accomplished. It was an easy choice to name her tonight as the principal of Dubach High School.”

The school board then approved an industrial tax exemption for Weyerhauser in a 12-0 vote. The agreement requires annual job numbers of 149 for the 130 Girl Scout Road location in Simsboro from 2024-2034, with a required annual payroll of $10,430,000.

Chief Academic Officer Dana Talley then reviewed the released school performance scores for the district. The LPJ has previously reported the scores, and the story can be found here.

The school board will meet again Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2024, at Glen View Elementary at noon.
