The Lady Techsters continue their road swing against Arkansas tonight in Bud Walton Arena. The game will tip off at 7 p.m. CT and broadcast live on SECNetwork+.
Anna Larr Roberson found her grove in LA Tech’s loss to Vanderbilt on Sunday. She finished with 27 points and six rebounds to lead the Lady Techsters (2-7).
For the season, Roberson leads LA Tech with 12.5 points per game, followed by Bates (11.4), Robyn Lee (8.4), Nativi (7.9), and Morris (7.8).
The Lady Techsters are towards the top of Conference USA in four categories. LA Tech is No. 1 in assists per game at 13.8, No. 4 in assists to turnover ratio (0.80), No. 4 in steals per game at 9.6, and No. 4 in field goal percentage at 41.0 percent.
Arkansas (7-2) started the season 6-0 before falling to Marquette on Nov. 25. The Razorbacks split last week’s contests, picking up a win at No. 15 Florida State and losing to No. 2 UCLA.
Taliah Scott led the way for Arkansas with 24 points against Florida State and 23 against UCLA. The freshman averages 23.3 points per game, seventh in the country, with six games on 20 or more, including a season-high 34 against Arkansas State. Scott had recorded 20 or more points in three straight contests.
Poffenbarger has 14 blocks on the season for a 1.86 average, ranking No. 41 nationwide. She adds 12 rebounds (No. 4 nationally) with 9.9 (No. 2 nationally) on the defensive side.
Arkansas is one of the top defensive teams in the country. The Razorbacks average 6.1 blocks per game, which ranks No. 11 in the nation, and pull down 30.2 defensive rebounds for No. 32.
The Razorbacks were picked to finish sixth in the Southeastern Conference. Arkansas finished 24-13 last season, falling in the Great Eight of the WNIT.
LA Tech holds a 3-1 record all-time against Arkansas. The Razorbacks picked up their first series win last season in the first round of the WNIT, 69-47. Tech is 1-1 in games played in Fayetteville.
LADY TECHSTER 50TH REUNION
Louisiana Tech is celebrating the 50th season of Lady Techster basketball. All former Lady Techster coaches, players, and staff are invited to the celebration being held during the CUSA home opener against Sam Houston on January 6, 2024. A reception will be held on Friday January 5 and formal recognition during the game.
