Ruston man violates court order after being charged for attacking woman

Ruston Police arrested a local man at a reported domestic assault in progress Monday afternoon.

Officers responded to a Timbers Avenue residence about 3 p.m. Monday where they found a woman who said Jerimy Nino, 37, of Ruston, had strangled her. Visible marks were seen on her neck and broken glass was observed on the kitchen floor. The woman was visibly agitated, according to an officer’s report.

Records indicated Nino had been arrested in November for battering the same victim. The judge in that case ordered that Nino not have any abusive contact with the victim.

Nino was arrested for battery of a dating partner with strangulation and violation of a protective order. He was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.

His bail was not available at publication time.
