Release from Lincoln Parish School Board.
The Lincoln Parish School Board is pleased to announce an exciting update to its meal service policy for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. Through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program, all students enrolled in Lincoln Parish schools will be provided with free breakfast and lunch each school day, at no charge to families.
CEP is a federal program designed to ensure that all students have access to nutritious meals without barriers such as sign-ups or income eligibility requirements. This initiative simplifies meal access for families, eliminating the need for free or reduced-price meal applications.
Cody Carrico, Supervisor of the LPSB Child Nutrition Program, expressed enthusiasm for the program, stating, ” LPSB Child Nutrition Program is happy to announce that we will be offering free meals (both breakfast and lunch) to all students through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program. Our meals are nutritious, meeting USDA guidelines, and we encourage all students to take advantage of this opportunity. Whether it’s breakfast or lunch, we want students to enjoy the meals that are available, and they have the freedom to choose what they prefer to eat.”
This initiative reflects Lincoln Parish School Board’s commitment to promoting student health and well-being through access to wholesome meals. By removing financial barriers, the district aims to increase student participation in school meals.
