Man arrested after family assaulted

The Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a local man Sunday after he allegedly threatened and assaulted family members and kicked them out of the home.

Hubert Jones, 73, was arrested on several domestic abuse charges at his Madden Road residence about 8:30 p.m. on October 13.

Family members told deputies Jones pointed a handgun at the adult victims and threatened to kill them. Jones allegedly kicked one person in the stomach and struck one on the chin.

One of the alleged victims retrieved a second handgun in self-defense but reportedly did not point it at Jones.

An infant child was present at the time of the incident.

Jones was booked for three counts of domestic abuse aggravated assault with child endangerment and two counts of domestic abuse battery. His bail amount was not available at publication time.
