Man harassing student found with drugs

A Grambling man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly harassed a female student and then followed and chased her when she left a Grambling State University athletic event Saturday night.

Delarryo M. Bass, 34, was booked on charges related to his illegal presence on the GSU campus and drug possession October 12.

A female GSU student said a man had harassed her and he was told to leave. As the woman walked away, the man followed and then chased her when she ran.

A GSU officer spotted a man matching the suspect description and recognized him as Delarryo Bass who was barred from the campus.

Bass was detained and suspected ecstasy pills and a pacifier were found in his pocket. Bass appeared to be under the influence of drugs. He was checked by EMS before being booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for entry into premises after being forbidden, unlawful disruption of a school operation, possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and violation of the Uniform Controlled Substances Act (drug-free zone).

Bail for Bass was set at $20,000.
