A Monroe man was arrested in Grambling last Monday after he interfered with a police officer investigating a two vehicle crash.
Zebedee I. Welch, 23, was arrested after he appeared at the scene of a traffic crash at the intersection of R.W.E. Jones Drive and College Avenue about 12:30 p.m. on January 27. Welch was the owner of one of the vehicles involved in the crash
Welch was told several times to calm down and move away from the scene after he interfered with the investigation and attempted to attack the driver of the other vehicle.
When a GPD officer attempted to arrest Welch, he snatched his arm back to avoid being handcuffed. He continued to resist until he was placed in a wrist lock and handcuffed.
Welch was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for interfering with a law enforcement investigation and resisting an officer. His bail was set at $2,000.
