This Week in Lincoln Parish Schools

The Lincoln Parish Journal is providing our local schools with an opportunity to submit nuggets from what’s going on at their respective schools in order to get more information out on their students, faculty and staff. The information below comes directly from those schools. Any school wishing to provide content each week can email at hannalsingh@gmail.com

Elementary Schools

Dubach

Dubach had a fun Read Across America Week, kicking it off with the Twin Club from Grambling State University coming to read to our classes. This year we have 3 sets of identical twins. They were excited to see so many other twins.

Tuesday, March 11th is our fourth and final Parent’s 2 Night School of the school year. Adopt-a-School Partner, First Guaranty Bank will present information on financial literacy and budgets. Adopt-a-school partner, Calvary Baptist Church of  will provide dinner for our families who attend. We started Parent’s 2 Night School last school year (2023-2024) and each session has grown. Parent’s come and share ideas, learn from each other and gain information from experts on topics that they would like to learn more about. This year the overall theme has been: The Big Picture of parenting.

Lincoln Parish Early Childhood Center

LPECC students ended the month of February by “Letting the good times roll” with a Mardi Gras parade. Each class dressed as their own Krewe and threw beads and candy or played instruments as their families watched. This week, students helped celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday with various dress up days and special guest readers. We want to send a very special thank you out to Dr. Humphries, Mrs. Deborah Lynch, Mrs. Carolyn Smith, Mrs. Kim Shackleford, and Officer Randy for reading to some of our students this week!

Ruston

Ruston Elementary School would like to thank Coach Fobbs (University of South Alabama), Coach Hester (Louisiana Tech University), and Deputy Chief Hamlin (Ruston) for speaking with and inspiring our students during Black History Month! The students enjoyed each and every moment with these remarkable men!
