The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development closed the northbound lane of U. S. 167 over Interstate 20 in Ruston for emergency repairs this afternoon (Wednesday).
The DOTD said the North Vienna Street overpass is reduced to one lane for bridge deck repairs.
The right lane of westbound I-20 under the overpass is also closed for motorist and work crew safety.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
DOTD will issue a notification when all lanes reopen.
According to City of Ruston Director of Public Works John Freeman, the Interstate portion of this closure is just whiel crews are working and likely to just last through Thursday. The Vienna Street lane closure will likely remain in place through the weekend.
