Reckless driver found with marijuana

Ruston Police arrested a woman for reckless driving and possession of marijuana after officers responded to a citizens report.

Jamareau Bundred, 21, of Monroe, was arrested at about 10:30 a.m. on July 18.

A witness told officers that Bundred had operated her vehicle in a reckless manner by driving down a one-way street the wrong way and almost hitting another car. Bundred then drove off erratically while yelling and cursing, but then went into a nearby store.

While officers were taking the report, the store manager came outside to report a woman inside said she was scared to go out to speak with police because she did not want to be arrested.

Officers went in the store to speak with Bundred, but she continued to walk past the officers saying, “What y’all need to speak to me for?” When I asked what had happened, Bundred said she was driving down the one-way. When asked for her driver’s license, Bundred walked out to her vehicle. An officer smelled marijuana and asked her if she had any in the vehicle.

A subsequent search located a small bag containing marijuana, rolling papers, and a rolling tray.

Bundred was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and reckless operation of a vehicle and booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.
