A woman was charged with domestic abuse by the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office after she allegedly punched her relative in the face repeatedly.
Travyca B. Rushing, 36, was charged with domestic abuse battery after deputies investigated an incident at a Heard Road residence.
Deputies interviewed the relative and Rushing at the scene. The relative’s nose was bleeding profusely, and both of her eyes were swollen shut. She said she was in the residence watching her cousins and Rushing came home and began yelling at her to get out. The relative said she refused to go with Rushing, who jumped on her, shoved her to the floor, and punched her in the face repeatedly.
The relative said Rushing only stopped hitting her when she threatened to call the police.
Other family members at the scene said the relative called them in a panic, saying Rushing had attacked her.
Rushing had what appeared to be several scratches from the relative defending herself. Rushing only stated the relative came at her with a knife and was unwilling to provide more details.
A record check show Rushing was wanted on a warrant for failure to appear in Ruston City Court. She was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.
