A Choudrant man was arrested last week on numerous charges after he was stopped by police leaving the scene of a Ruston disturbance.
Benton Bullard, 51, was booked for aggravated assault and other charges after Ruston Police responded to a South Trenton Street residence. As they arrived, Bullard was leaving the scene in a vehicle, but was stopped.
Bullard was found to be operating the vehicle without a driver’s license. A glass pipe commonly used for smoking crack cocaine and a folding knife were found in plain view on the floorboard.

One of the victims said Bullard was banned from the property and officers verified this with their office.
Another victim said Butler damaged a tire on his vehicle by stabbing it. The victim said the victim described the black knife found in Bullard‘s vehicle, saying Bullard had held it so that it appeared to be a handgun and pointed at him. The victim said he felt Bullard was going to shoot him and he ducked for cover.
Bullard was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for aggravated assault, no driver’s license, possession of drug paraphernalia, simple criminal damage to property, and criminal trespass. His bail was sad at $2,000.
