Campus fight ends with arrest

A El Dorado woman was arrested at Grambling State University campus last week after a fight in a campus parking lot.

Asia Devonne Robinson, 19, was arrested on numerous charges Aug. 14 after a security officer at a checkpoint saw a fight occurring in the Bethune Hall parking lot.

Campus police responded to the location where they found a probation and parole officer attempting to handcuff Robinson. While officers were trying to detain Robinson, she kept trying to pull away and yelled profanities at police.

Once she was placed in a patrol car, she kicked the door and window several times, an officer’s report also noted. She spit on the protective glass separating her from officers in the front seat.

In a search of Robinson’s purse, officers found suspected marijuana.

The probation and parole officer said when they first encountered Robinson, she was yelling that she had gotten into a fight with a group of women. While they also attempted to obtain Robinson‘s information, she was uncooperative and walked away. When they also attempted to stop Robinson, she pulled away and punched the officer.

Robinson was booked for disturbing the peace, battery of a police officer, resisting an officer, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance in a drug-free zone, and simple criminal damage to property.
