Ruston’s Zeta Rho chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha is looking toward the U.S. semiquincentennial and is inviting interested area residents to join their ranks with the slogan “Pledging Allegiance to Service and Fun: Zeta Rho Wants YOU to Join Our Team!”
The service group’s annual recruitment and welcome meeting is set for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, in the fellowship hall of the Northside Church of Christ, 1804 N. Trenton.
“As our nation looks toward its 250th birthday, we in Zeta Rho are pledging our own allegiance – to service, friendship and making a difference,” Zeta Rho-ESA President Jennifer Patterson said. “We’d love for you to stand with us and be part of it.”
Patterson noted that the Zeta Rho chapter offers plenty of opportunities for involvement. The group’s projects range from volunteering with the Monroe St. Jude Dream Home and co-hosting the KXKZ 107.5 St. Jude Radiothon to assisting with local St. Jude trike-a-thons and math-a-thons. Members also participate in Christian Community Action food drives, support Ruston’s Special Olympics and provide aid to area veterans.
Beyond service projects, members enjoy educational programs at monthly meetings as well as a variety of social gatherings.
Joining Patterson in leadership for the coming ESA year are fellow officers Beth Fife, vice president; Lester Fife, treasurer; Amy Ringheim, secretary; and Allison Davidson, parliamentarian. In addition, Zeta Rho member Nancy Darland is serving as Louisiana Council president for the 2025–2027 term.
