A Ruston man was arrested on numerous charges Sunday after he was caught shoplifting repeatedly at a local store, according to police.
Adrian Jackson, 58, was arrested for two counts of theft, drug possession, and several outstanding warrants at the Neighborhood Walmart on October 5.
Ruston Police were called to the store on West California Avenue where a manager reported Jackson had stolen some meat earlier in the day. The manager provided video of the theft and confirmed Jackson’s identity from photos from previous thefts at the store.
Several hours later, Walmart reported Jackson had returned to the store and shoplifted again.
Jackson was arrested and a bottle of Hydroyoxine prescribed to another person was found in a search. The value of the property in the first theft was about $57 and $74 in the second incident.
Jackson had been barred previously from all Walmart locations.
When he was searched at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center, Jackson was found to be in possession of a small opaque object believed to be crack cocaine.
A records check showed outstanding warrants for Jackson for failure to appear in court on two theft charges and a resisting an officer charge from incidents earlier this year.
Jackson was booked for two counts of theft, criminal trespass by entering premises after being forbidden, possession of a legend drug, possession of cocaine, introduction of contraband into a penal facility, and the three warrants.
