Cedar Creek and Lincoln Prep will remain in the same district following a vote at the Louisiana High School Athletic Association Thursday during the organizations reclassification meetings.
The two Lincoln Parish neighbors will join Arcadia, Glenbrook, Haynesville, and Plain Dealing to make up the six-team district over the next two academic years (2026-28).
At one point during the early discussions of reclassification back in November, one proposal had Cedar Creek moving to east to a district with OCS, St. Fred’s, General Trass and others.
However, the school submitted an appeal asking to remain in District 1-1A.
“We are pleased by the LHSAA decision to keep us in District 1-A,” said Cedar Creek AD Gene Vandenlangenberg. “Our athletic teams have enjoyed competing in this district, and most importantly, we are pleased with shorter road trips for our athletes.”
Jonesboro Hodge, which has been competing in District 1-1A the past two years, moves to District 3-1A and joins Lakeview, Logansport, Montgomery, Ringgold, and St. Mary’s.
