My name is Richard R. Anderson, and I am proud to officially announce my candidacy for the Lincoln Parish School Board District 11 seat.
I’m running because I believe every student in Lincoln Parish, regardless of their background or neighborhood, should have access to a safe, modern, and inspiring learning environment. I’ve seen the challenges our schools face, from aging infrastructure to the need for updated curriculum and technology. We need a board member who will listen, act decisively, and put children’s educational needs first.
My Vision for District 11
● Academic Excellence: I will champion the adoption of innovative learning standards to ensure every student in Lincoln Parish is college-ready and possesses the skills to pursue a viable career, trade, or military service. Also, ensure that the Lincoln Parish School System becomes the number one school district in Louisiana by the end of the 2030-2031 school year.
● Teacher & Staff Support: Our educators are the backbone of our society. I will fight for competitive pay, safe working conditions, and the resources they need to educate our next generation of leaders.
● Modern Facilities & Infrastructure: I will prioritize investments in school buildings, technology, and transportation to create safe and effective learning spaces and PROACTIVELY coordinate economic development opportunities to foster flexibility for our young people as they transition into careers they would be proud of.
● Fiscal Responsibility: Every tax dollar must be spent wisely and transparently. I will ensure the school board is a responsible steward of public funds.
● Community Engagement: I will host regular town halls, operate a full-time office daily, and maintain open lines of communication so your voice is always heard at the board table.
About Richard R. Anderson
As a parent, grandparent, great-grandparent, a FULL-TIME advocate, and a community volunteer, I understand the values and priorities of District 11 families. My wife and I are celebrating our 49th year of marriage. I have spent years working alongside local educators, parents, clergy, and civic leaders to improve our community. I am a Louisiana Tech University graduate, a veteran of the United States Armed Forces, a former Administrative Officer with the Parish of Caddo Governing Authority, and a former Senior Executive Officer with Scouting America. I am ready to bring that same collaborative spirit and problem-solving approach from these prior roles and education to the Lincoln Parish School Board.
