I am proud to announce my candidacy for the Lincoln Parish School Board, District 2.
For the past 13 years, I have been blessed to call District 2 home. I am married to my loving husband, Dennis Woods, and together we have a wonderful blended family of eight children, eleven grandchildren, and two beloved granddogs. I am a graduate of Ruston High School and attended Louisiana Tech University.
Throughout my career, I have been committed to serving our community. I worked for CenterPoint Energy for 20 years, the City of Ruston for 10 years, and have proudly served the Lincoln Parish School Board for the past 11 years. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of the importance of teamwork, accountability, and public service.
My husband and I are passionate supporters of our local students. Whether attending elementary, high school, or college sporting events, we enjoy cheering on our young people. Watching them work hard, grow, and succeed brings me tremendous joy.
My commitment to our community also extends to my church, where I have served in youth ministries, Bible study, Sunday School and Outreach. These opportunities have strengthened my belief in the importance of investing in our children and building strong relationships throughout our community.
I believe there is an opportunity to strengthen the connection between our schools and our community through open communication, collaboration, and a shared commitment to student success. Lincoln Parish is already one of the top school districts in our state, and I believe that, together, we can build on that strong foundation and make it even better.
It would be an honor to earn your vote for the Lincoln Parish School Board, District 2. I am committed to listening, serving, and working alongside our educators, parents, students, and community to ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed.
