A registered sex offender was arrested at the Lincoln Parish Courthouse Annex last week after a probation officer found an active Facebook account on his cell phone during a routine check-in, according to an arrest affidavit.
Marcus Percy, 43, of Dubach, was arrested at 11:15 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, by an officer with the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections’ Division of Probation and Parole.
Percy reported to the courthouse annex to check in with his supervising officer. Percy is a registered sex offender and is currently on supervised release.
While Percy was completing his sex offender registration, the officer learned he had a Facebook account on his personal cell phone. The officer asked Percy to unlock the phone and located an active Facebook profile page through the Facebook application.
Percy was advised of his Miranda rights and placed in handcuffs. His cell phone was secured, and he was transported to the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for booking.
Percy was booked on counts of unlawful use of a social networking website and failure to comply with the provisions of supervised release.
