Steven Michael Roebuck, born October 23, 1972, passed away on August 12, 2026, at the age of 53.
Steven was a devoted husband to Lauren Cochran Roebuck and a loving father to their daughter, Haley Elizabeth Roebuck and her fiancé, Olen Chandler, and their son, Alexander Steven Roebuck. Lauren and Steven began dating in the summer of 1991 and were married on April 24, 1993. During their 33 years of marriage, they built a life centered on love, family, faith, and mutual support.
Steven is also survived by his mother, Janet Page Latuso; his father, Walter Roebuck and wife Joyce; his brother, Bryan Roebuck and wife Kelly; and his aunt, Laura Jeanne Page. He is further survived by his father-in-law, Donald Cochran and wife Debra; his mother-in-law, Rhonda Grace; his sister-in-law, Leslie Owens and husband Mark; his brother-in-law, Shane Cochran and wife Tereza; and numerous nieces and nephews. Steven was preceded in death by his stepfather, Pascal “Pat” Latuso Jr.
Steven was a proud member of the Ruston High School Class of 1991. He graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 1998 with a degree in marketing and management. While at Louisiana Tech, he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, where he embraced the bonds of brotherhood and embodied all that came with that distinction.
A gifted salesman, Steven began his pharmaceutical career with Elan Pharmaceuticals in January 1999. In 2003, he joined Johnson & Johnson as a CNS Specialty Sales Specialist. After spending one year with GlaxoSmithKline as an Executive Clinical Specialist, Steven returned to Johnson & Johnson in December 2006, where he remained for the rest of his career. During his time there, he advanced to the position of Senior Executive Specialist in Hematologic Malignancies. His natural ability to connect with people and his dedication to his work served him well throughout his long and successful career.
In 2003, Steven also supported Lauren as she opened her own business. For its first 10 years, he served as her sole helper, working faithfully alongside her as they grew Lauren Roebuck Designs from a small floral business operated out of their home into the thriving business Lauren continues today. What began with floral design expanded to include home décor, lighting, furniture, and gifts, while remaining true to its floral roots.
Steven was incredibly proud of Lauren and devoted countless hours to supporting her dreams, both publicly and behind the scenes. Lauren lovingly describes him as her “CEO, CFO, partner in crime, and the one who put up with all my crazy ideas—and then helped see them through.” In his words, Steven deserved “a huge gold medal” for his unwavering patience, encouragement, and devotion. Their work together reflected his steadfast belief in her, his love for their family, and the remarkable life they built side by side.
Steven also shared his entrepreneurial knowledge and experience with his daughter, Haley, helping her launch her own business, Haley’s Sweet Tooth. His encouragement of both Lauren and Haley reflected the pride he took in his family and his desire to help those he loved to pursue their dreams.
Steven was an excellent golfer, and he passed his love of the game along to his son, Alex. Golf became a special bond between father and son. Steven helped coach Alex to a state golf title in 2025, when Alex was a high school sophomore—an accomplishment that brought Steven tremendous pride. In 2026, Steven helped coach the Cedar Creek golf team to a state championship. Throughout the district, he was respected as an encourager of young golfers—not only those on his own team, but also those they competed against. His influence reached far beyond scores and titles, reflecting the genuine interest he took as a mentor.
Steven approached life with intention, enthusiasm, and a wonderful sense of fun. He lived fully, loved deeply, and brought an unmistakable energy wherever he went. A lifelong jokester and the class clown, Steven was often the life of the party. If Steven was there, you knew it—and you could count on laughter, a good story, and a memorable time. He loved hosting and entertaining and was usually either telling a story or creating one to be told later, often with a little assistance from Maker’s Mark.
After being diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2017, Steven underwent chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant before going into remission. He never took the additional time he was given for granted, marking it each year by celebrating his “birthday.” Even while enduring severe pain, Steven refused to allow his illness to diminish his joy or keep him from fully engaging in life. Those around him rarely knew the extent of what he carried. He faced his struggles with quiet strength while continuing to laugh, celebrate, bring people together, and remain fully present for those he loved.
Steven’s family extends its heartfelt gratitude to Dr. David Osafo and Dr. Tharwat Ghattas for the expert and compassionate care they provided throughout his illness.
Steven’s presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, colleagues, classmates, fraternity brothers, golfers, and all who knew him. The memories they shared and the impact he made on their lives will be cherished always.
A service celebrating Steven’s life will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Temple Baptist Church in Ruston, Louisiana under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes in Ruston, Louisiana.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Place Ministries, 1600 Jackson Street, Monroe, Louisiana 71202, or Young Life of Ruston, 300 S. Service Road E., Ruston, Louisiana 71270.
