Louisiana Tech surrendered four second-half goals Sunday as Southeastern Louisiana pulled away for a 5-1 victory at Robert Mack Caruthers Field.

The Lions (1-1-0) held a 1-0 advantage at halftime before scoring twice in the opening three minutes of the second half to take control.

Southeastern Louisiana broke a scoreless tie in the 29th minute after the Bulldogs had limited the Lions to six shots during the opening half.

Louisiana Tech (0-1-1), which recorded 12 first-half shots in Thursday’s season-opening 2-2 draw against Nicholls, struggled to generate the same offensive opportunities Sunday. The Bulldogs managed three shots in the first half and six for the match.

The Lions quickly added to their lead after halftime, scoring twice during the opening three minutes of the second half to build a 3-0 advantage. Southeastern Louisiana struck again in the 60th minute to make it 4-0.

Louisiana Tech broke through in the 74th minute when Madison Pensom headed home a cross from Reagan Roberts to cut the deficit to 4-1. The goal was Pensom’s first of the season and second of her career, while Roberts recorded her first career assist.

Southeastern Louisiana answered less than a minute later with its fifth goal to complete the scoring.

Freshman goalkeeper Mackenzie Lorkowski made her first career start for the Bulldogs and recorded 11 saves. It marked the most saves by a Louisiana Tech goalkeeper since Cadence Rutledge had 11 against Liberty in the Conference USA Tournament on Nov. 2, 2025, and the most by a Tech goalkeeper at home since Sydnee Korchak made 11 saves against UTSA on Oct. 6, 2022.

Freshman Juliette Starck led Louisiana Tech offensively with a career-high three shots, including one on goal.

The Bulldogs will conclude their season-opening three-match homestand Thursday against Lamar. The match is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Robert Mack Caruthers Field and will be streamed on ESPN+.
