RUSTON — Coretechs, a Ruston-based information technology company, has been named to the 2026 Inc. 5000, the magazine’s annual ranking of the fastest-growing private companies in America.
The company ranked No. 1,824 nationally and No. 21 in Louisiana after posting 190% growth over three years. Coretechs was one of four Louisiana IT companies on this year’s list and one of two Ruston companies, along with Argent Financial Group.
Coretechs provides IT and technology services to businesses and organizations across the state, functioning as the technology department for many of its clients by maintaining computers, networks, servers, Wi-Fi and phone systems and guarding against cyberattacks and data loss. Its clients include businesses of all sizes as well as schools, healthcare organizations, professional firms, churches and nonprofits.
“When something goes wrong with technology, it can bring an entire business to a stop,” Coretechs President Brent Causey said. “Payroll has to run. A construction crew needs its plans. A doctor needs patient information. A school has to open. Our job is to make sure the technology those organizations depend on is working and secure.”
Causey said the ranking tells only part of the company’s story.
“Making the Inc. 5000 is awesome, but it doesn’t show the late-night text saying, ‘I’ll be home in a few hours,’ or the family waiting on the other end,” Causey said. “It doesn’t show server installs that stretched through the night, emergency hardware deliveries before sunrise, or our team setting up temporary Starlink so a client could open its doors on time.”
Over the past five years, Coretechs employees have worked through COVID-19, hurricanes, ice storms, tornadoes, floods, hardware shortages, cyberattacks and supply chain problems, often traveling across Louisiana on short notice to keep clients operating.
The company has also expanded beyond north Louisiana. Coretechs moved into Baton Rouge in 2024 through an acquisition, establishing a permanent presence in the southern part of the state, and expanded into Lake Charles earlier this year. Its headquarters remain in Ruston.
Causey started the company after leaving a job at Lincoln Builders, saying conversations with friends, family and local business owners convinced him that businesses wanted technology help that was not only reliable but personal — someone they knew and could call directly.
Causey credited the company’s employees, their families and its customers for the growth.
“Behind every employee who stayed late, left before daylight or drove across Louisiana at a moment’s notice was a family making a sacrifice too,” Causey said. “Those families may not be on payroll, but they helped build this company.”
He also credited his faith.
“I don’t believe any of this happened by accident,” Causey said. “I believe God put the right people in the right places and gave us the opportunity to build something special together. We made the Inc. 5000. We’re still growing. And we’re just getting started. Most importantly, we’re incredibly grateful for the clients who trust us with their businesses and their IT needs. We wouldn’t be here without them.”
