Ruston High presents 2023 Homecoming Court

The 2023 Ruston High School Homecoming Court was presented during halftime of Friday night’s 35-28 win over ASH. Below are the bios on each of this year’s honorees courtesy of Ruston High.

Freshman maid Autumn Faith Gibbs is the daughter of Kira and Jeff Gibbs, an RHS alum of 1998. Autumn has participated in Louisiana’s Band Master Association for two years in a row. She has also participated in two honor bands and is a current member of the Ruston High Band. Autumn’s mom Kira graduated from RHS in 2001. 

Freshman maid Gioia Amorina Tatum is the daughter of Fiorella and Donald Tatum, a retired Army officer and veteran. Gioa participates in Lady Bearcat basketball, volleyball, and track. She is a member of FBLA, YoungLife, RocketFuel Volleyball Club, and Team Up Lady Red Raiders AAU basketball. In her spare time, she likes to hang out with her family and their dog Luna Dior, and she enjoys working out. 

Sophomore maid Alyssa Langiulli is the daughter of Dr. Dayanny and Dr. Michael Langiulli, and her brother Jaiden is a Class of 2023 graduate of RHS. Alyssa is a two-year member of FCA where she currently serves as a leader, and a two-year member of the tennis team where she received the Rising Star Award and Freshman of the Year Award. As a freshman, she was a member of FFA and earned the Green Hand Award. Alyssa served as a volunteer at Buddy Ball and at the Special Olympics. She was also a member of the Dragon Boat Team. This year, Alyssa is a Student Council class representative and a member of FBLA. She is a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church and is a competitive gymnast at GymPro Academy in West Monroe.

Sophomore maid Megan Ma’Kenzy Modest is the daughter of Leaundra Modest, a class of 1998 graduate, Shalena Johnson, and Clarence Johnson. Megan is a two-year member of the track team and Poms. She is on the praise dance team at Miracle Temple. Megan’s brother Clarence Johnson IV graduated from RHS in 2019, her brother Dillon Johnson graduated in 2020, and her sister Ra’Kerria Modest graduated in 2022. 

Sophomore maid Frances Jane Preaus is the daughter of Morgan and Jake Preaus. Frances is a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Minden where she is a member of the youth group. At Ruston High, Frances is a two-year member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, where she serves as a leader this year, a two-year member of FFA and the CatBox Crazies. Frances is also on the tennis team. She was selected to represent her class on the Homecoming Court as a freshman. Frances’ mom Morgan is a Class of 2003 graduate of Ruston High School, and her grandfather Wayne Parkman is a graduate of the Class of 1965. 

Junior maid Marlee Peyton Davis is the daughter of Morgan and Cody Davis. Marlee is a member of the golf team where she qualified for golf regionals both her freshman and sophomore years and earned the Most Improved award her freshman year. She is a three-year member of the Ruston High cheer team where she received the Leadership Award voted on by her peers. She is also a current member of the Ruston High competition cheer team. Marlee has been in FCA for three years. Her freshman year she was voted as a Sharp Cat. She has volunteered at Christmas on the Farm through the Methodist Children’s home for two years, and she currently serves as a Bearcat Mentor. 

Junior maid Ariana Sentrice Wesley is the daughter of Generra Wesley and Mikel Key. At Ruston High, Ariana is a three-year member of the cheerleading team. Her sophomore year, she was a member of the FACS Club, and she was elected to be on the Homecoming Court. She currently serves as a Bearcat Mentor. 

Senior maid Bethany Jean Colvin is the daughter of Ed and Kelli Colvin. Throughout her time at Ruston High, Bethany has maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout high school while taking Honors, AP, and dual enrollment courses. She is a four-year member of Bearcat Belles and has been on the competition Belles team and was awarded the Golden Bell and Best Attitude Awards by her peers. Bethany has been a Student Council class representative for four years. She has been in National Honor Society for three years and has served on the council and currently serves as president. She is a two-year member of Keywanettes and a two-year member of Bearcat Mentors where she currently serves on the council. She has received the Gressett’s Greatest Award all four years of high school. In the community, Bethany is an active member of First Baptist Church where she serves on the youth leadership team, volunteers at Vacation Bible School each summer, and serves as a counselor at the middle school retreat. Bethany is also a volunteer at Life Choices. 

Senior maid Jodi Elia Dunbar is the daughter of Felicia and JP Dunbar. Jodi was involved with the A-HEC and GenCyber programs her freshman year. She was on the Speech and Debate team her freshman and sophomore year, and she is a three-year member of National Honor Society, serving as a council member her junior year and vice president this year. Jodi is a two-year member of Bearcat Mentors and is currently a student trainer. Jodi attends Trinity Methodist Church where she is on the Youth Leadership Team and served as volunteer chair her junior year. She serves on the Church Council as a Youth Representative at Trinity Methodist Church. Jodi was recently named a National Merit Semifinalist and she scored a perfect score of 36 on the ACT. Jodi’s brother Trey Evans graduated in 2009, her brother and current Ruston football coach Colt Dunbar graduated in 2010, and her sister Tracy Evans Romero graduated in 2012. 

Senior maid Aakeyliah Jones is the daughter of Alisha Jones and Lawrence Spivey, a graduate of the RHS Class of 1999. Aakeyliah is a three-year member of the Lady Bearcat basketball team, she is a part of the NAACP group, and she participated in the Polished and pearls “Project Touch ” debutante group.

Senior maid A’Nyia Cherryl Moore is the daughter of Chanelle France, Alphonzo Moore, and Roy Jackson. A’Nyia’s brother Jayson France graduated in the RHS Class of 2020, her brother Decorian Jones graduated in the RHS Class of 2018, and her sister Amyia Moore graduated in the RHS Class of 2019. A’Nyia is a four-year member of the Lady Bearcat basketball team. She is a four-year member of Young Life. She was elected to the Homecoming Court her freshman and sophomore years. She is a two-year member of FCA and is currently a Keywanette. 

Maid of Honor Kam’ryn Nichole Bradley is the daughter of Donecia Bradley and Ryan Williams. Kam’ryn’s sister Bria Bradley is a 2016 graduate of Ruston High School. Kam’ryn currently serves as the secretary of Student Council. She was a JV cheerleader her sophomore year and has been a varsity cheerleader for two years. She was on the Homecoming Court in her sophomore and junior years. She served as a Bearcat Mentor her junior year and is in the Drama Club. She has been on the A/B Honor Roll all four years of high school, maintaining over a 3.6 GPA. She is currently enrolled in dual enrollment courses at RHS. In the community, she was named Miss 2023 Congeniality as a Debutante, and she volunteered this summer at Seed-links Behavioral Management assisting patients. Kam’ryn attends Praise Temple Baptist Church in Ruston.

Homecoming Queen Kate Hathaway Pullin is the daughter of Sarah and Brad Pullin. Kate, who serves as the current Student Council president, is a three-year member of Student Council, serving as a class representative her sophomore year and secretary her junior year. She has been on Honor Roll all four years of high school. She is a four-year member of Bearcat Belles and has served as the co-captain for two years. She is a three-year member of both National Honor Society and FCA where she serves as a leader. Kate is active in Young Life and has been a Young Life Campaigner for three years. She has been a Bearcat Mentor for two years. Her junior year she received the Masonic Honesty and Integrity Award. Kate is a member of the Bridge Community Church. Kate comes from a long line of Bearcats as her brother Reeves graduated in 2022, her grandfather Danny Graham is a 1971 graduate of Ruston High School, her grandmother Kate Holstead Graham is an RHS Class of 1972 graduate, and her great-grandfather George Holstead graduated from RHS in 1941.
