Lincoln Parish hosts educator fair tonight

Future educators are invited to the Lincoln Parish Schools Educator Job Fair event at the STEM Center located at 525 Tarbutton Road tonight.

“This is a yearly event for us, and it gives our school district administration an opportunity to meet potential teachers and school district employees, as well as, allows us to inform those potential employees about Lincoln Parish Schools,” said Brandon Sutherland, communications coordinator of Lincoln Parish Schools.

For those interested in attending, pre-register online on the Lincoln Parish School Board Office’s website. After selecting a time slot, an assigned team leader will be prepared to discuss available career options.

“Not only do we partner with universities to host their education graduates, but we also have those schools come and promote their education and master’s programs for those who may be interested in furthering their education,” Sutherland said.

If an applicant wants to prepare for the meeting with the team leader, links for vacant job positions are listed on the left side of the Lincoln Parish School’s website page. Although the event may only appeal to primary elementary educators, secondary educators are also encouraged to attend.

“Attending career fairs/networking events earlier in your college career helps expose you to the same recruiters you may see your junior and senior year fostering a relationship early on”, said Avery Broussard, assistant director of career center operations, technology and employer relations at Tech.
