Evans announces run for District 9 spot on police jury

My Name is Nakisha R. Evans. I am elated to announce my candidacy for the Lincoln Parish Police Jury District #9. I am the granddaughter of the late Rev. Allen W. Diamond and daughter of the late Gwendolyn F. Diamond who both worked many decades and retired from the City of Ruston.

I grew up in district #9 doing so I remember when the community looked and stayed appeasing. In 2018 I purchased land added a home in my old neighborhood, however it does not look or feel the same. There is work to do!! I am a Graduate of Grambling State University with an associate degree in Early Childhood. I am certified in teaching responsible, office administration and mental help aide for adults which I acquired in 2023.

Throughout my life I spent most of my time helping others in the community as well as organizations such as Lincoln Parish NAACP, Ruston Voters League, Grambling Juneteenth Committee, Chamber of Commerce, Ruston Peach Festival, OES, Wilbert Ellis Baseball Camp, and New Hope Baptist Church Vaughn/ Jones St. to name a few not counting individuals and families I worked silently giving God the Glory.

I am passionate about working together to build and develop a better community. I take pride in being able and available to assist other, find solutions, listen to community needs and working together. I believe using transparency strengthens bonds that will allow us to regain the beauty of community engagement & commitment. I would be honored to receive the votes of District #9 for Lincoln Parish Police Jury.

I am committed to severing, working, showing up and listening to constituents concerns. Thank you for your prayers, support, and trust. I look forward to serving to build and develop a better community.
